Another one for Vista here as well. I've had no driver issues with my copy of Vista ultimate and its been running fine for 6 months now. I use it to share files to other PC's etc and not had any problems with that either. Give Ubuntu a go if you want to try Linux tombot did a really good guide for it. I hate going back to XP after using Vista but i don't really use my PC at home for much other than downloading and the web.

If you still have not made up your mind i would say go for 64 bit vista its more secure you can use all the 4g of ram (i could only use about 3g by default on 32bit) and the instant search thing is really good for finding programs.

Xp Pro/Vista 64 Dual boot ftw. I would advise getting another hdd for the 2nd os personally.

Vista. If you're a fan of old games, the Vista compatibility mode is spot on - it hasn't let me down yet and I've been playing Dune 2 ffs

vista 64 ultimate for me, only found one program that I couldn't use and that has a new version now that is compatible.

If you do XP go for XP Pro x64...
Faster than Vista x64 but that's coz it can't do half as much... as can be expected from a dated OS.

Windows 7 is very promisng tho. Ive found the beta to be pretty like Vista but super fast too with much less bloat
also a great linux solution is ubuntu

I have just been on Vista for 6 months and gone back to XP.
Far too many crappy little bugs with Vista for me and XP just runs like a dream!

I'd rather use Windows 2000 than Vista!

Many differences not sure of the terms. buts basically it looks great , feels faster and looks like vista .

just had a look and im not that sure about the ones that install all the stuff for you personally i dont think id use 99% the stuff that comes with that and id end up just uninstalling it all, but each to their own
