As the title says a friend of mine has asked me to sort out her daughter's laptop, it's running Vista and as far as i can see it has'nt been updated since April 08! and i cant get it to update, So im thinking of just putting xp on it to cure the problem (It's an intel celeron m 440 @ 1.8ghz with 512mb ram) Would installing XP better utilize the hardware inside???

But more than likely it will.Browse the Manufacurers website for XP drivers first, and 512mb ram is not really enough for Vista anyway.

Did it come from new with vista on it.
