Photos So close you can nearly reach out and touch it

A gorgeous Full Moon rises behind Mount Hamilton, east of San Jose, California. Captured in this lovely telescopic view, historic Lick Observatory is perched on the mountain's 4,200 foot summit, observatory and rising Moon momentarily sharing the warm color of filtered sunlight.

Good shot but as diablos says it does look shopped. The edges of the moon are a little jagged.

I imagine the magnification at this angle will make the edges fuzzy (lots of atmosphere to refract it)
For those of you with the equipment and location (less light pollution than me!) the moon is apparently looking bigger than it has for a long time, tonight the biggest for 15 years.

"Tonight the Moon is at perigee, a term meaning that it’s at the nearest point in its orbit. If the Moon looks bigger than usual, that’s because it really is a little bit closer than usual.

You can make the Moon seem bigger still if you catch sight of it close to the horizon. It’s a well-known optical illusion that the Moon appears to be bigger when you can compare it with familiar ground-based objects such as trees, buildings, or distant mountains.

    Notes

The difference between perigee and apogee (the farthest point in the Moon’s orbit) is about 40,000 km. At its nearest, the Moon is 363,300 km away; at its farthest, 405,500 km.

The difference in the Moon's apparent size between perigee and apogee is therefore about 11%."

And yeah, you're right - the moon does photo with jagged edges, as does the sun.
Not quite the same (!) but you can see the edges jagged if you enlarge them..
The Moon has jagged edges cos it has jagged edges ie craters . You just need the correct equipment to photograph it multiple times and correct software to stitch them images together
