bit of help cdr500 code

hi
is it possible to get the code for this radio/cd player before i take it out?
or after ? its says vdo cdr 500 and its in a vauxhaul
i don`t want to take it out to find i`m buggered. i know sometimes the code is wrote on top but i don`t want to be driving 2hrs to work and back with only my whistling to keep me company

dont quote me on this but i think it depends if ita a delco or vdo. i think theres a few sites that will give you serial but only for 1 version. i know when i had to do mine, mine wasnt supported and my local radio decoder wanted about 25 quid, being a bit of a tight arse i decided to have a go myself with a tms370 reader. and managed to find out my code.Give vauxhall a ring they may have the code logged on the system like my old ccr600. gave it to me free 2
