    Default Using an auto installer...

I'm replacing the 80GB HDD thats in my Xbox at the moment with a new 500GB one.

I know it's proably best to use an auto installer to set up the dashboard and stuff, so I downloaded Auto Installer Deluxe and burned it to a CDR but the Xbox won't boot it.

Does it need to be on a DVD? I read something about DVD or CDRW but nothing about a CDR?

    Any help appreciated.

    Chris

Think so, my XBOX 1 doesn't like CD-R discs, but sometimes it will read CD-RW.

I'd stick with a DVD for best results...

Yeah, my xboxs would only read DVDs. I actually turned it on the other day and was shocked how bad games look compared to a 360.

I burnt Slayers 2.7 to a CD and it worked a dream. Mine has a Samsung drive.

Will 500gb be OK in Xbox 1 then? Might have to upgrade myself

From memory, I think only the Samsung drives would read CD's.

i dont think the old xbox can handle the full capacity of a 500gig HDD, I thought it was limited to 320 or something. the price difference between HDDs is probably so small it doesnt matter anyway.

Im pretty sure 500gb is ok on the newer chip bios'es, though some soft-mod's wont like it.

Excellent thanks for the replies folks. I'm not sure what drive is in it right now, I've never used it for gaming only watching movies in the living room.
