    Default Graphics card fan

I put a geforce 7950gt card into my dads pc at xmas, and recently it has started to get very noisy.

I took the card out, and removed the fan guard, and it appears that the fan itself is hitting in the casing as it spins.

The fan does not spin level anymore, more like a spinning top that is slowing down before stopping, if that makes sense

Is there a way to replace the fan, or repair it ? Or do I have to look for a replacement cooler fan for it ?

    like this one

Usually when a Fan is screwed, its screwed.Replace it, or repair it if you can.If not replace the card as you know its only going to get worse.
Sorry but thats about all you can do m8.

i have loosened the fan guard, and that is allowing it to spin, although noisily

I had been told that that zalman cooler would fit directly onto the heatsink on my card.

    what do you reckon ?

you just take the old one off take off the paste put some new paste on and screw it onto the card. Bassically its just a little bit harder than putting a cpu heatsink and fan on. I couldn't see the fan either but i think its on the underside.

Are all the mounts/mating surfaces standardised across gfx cards?

They would have to be for it to actually work - it's just that I'm a little sceptical of that.
