ideas for fancy dress costumes/characters??

i'm going to a fancy dress on new years eve and am trying to think of a cool costume/character to go as.

i've thought papa lazarou from league of gentlemen, but am struggling to find out what he wears, pics on google are a bit thin on the ground.

any ideas?? anything you've gone as that wen't down well? or seen somebody else go as??

i'd rather not put a pic up mate tbh. beetlejuice could be cool tho

no theme i'm aware of mate, was thinking along the lines of a tv/film character, but anything goes really.

have also seen some bo selecta masks but they're about 90 quid for a good one, then the rest of the costume on top:-/

i'd have a look on fleabay mate - i picked up a couple of fairly cool halloween masks for a fraction of what they cost in the shops
Bitter experience has taught me that trying to do summat on the cheap (ie a DIY cozzie) is almost always more expensive than just buying one.

i just bought my outfit for new years this afters... it's heroes and villains theme and i'm going as beetlejuice!!

i did bananaman a couple months back. it was awesome. at least 2 or 3 people coming to chat in every pub, people shouting on the street and a fair few ladies coming over to squeeze my (inflatable) banana... defo gets attention that one!

a couple of mates did slash and axl from guns and roses a while back which was well smart...
