pcmcia wireless cards for ibm laptop

i have bought the kids an ibm thinkpad 600e laptop and want to get it on the net through wireless.
ive been looking at pcmcia wireless adapters/cards on the net and have come across a cable and wireless pcmcia adapter. it says it will connect a laptop but does anyone know if it is a good one or not?, our broadband is with sky.

if its pcmcia and wireless it will work, both plug play the slot and the wireless connection

ok then, thanks... but would you recomend the wireless card or the wireless usb adapter?...im stuck on what to get for the best option,they both say they will connect laptop/notebook but dont know what is more reliable.

The way I look at it is what else will you use in the pcmcia slot? probably nothing so stick a wireless adaptor in there. The USB ports can be used for loads of other things it is a shame to use one of them up with a wireless adaptor.

same thing with keyboards and mice why use USB ports when you have PS2 ports which will do nothing but run a keyboard or mouse.

So buy a pcmcia card, they don't stick out as much as a usb adaptor and less likley to break sa they are pretty chunky things I use a pcmcia card in my old laptop.

I'm in full agreement with LJ, go with the card.

Much as I hate to admit to using them, PC World do a Belkin wireless card for under £20.
It comes with a lifetime warranty, and it's a piece of piss to install (install software first, reboot computer, plug card in).

The Belkin part number is F5D7010UK
The PC World stock number is 886402

I actually have one in the old ladies laptop, and I really can't fault it.
