Tech Firefox 3 users - Little tip. :)

This may or may not be useful to some folk, but if you're like me and use 'Clear Private Data (Ctrl+Shift+Delete)' quite alot, does it piss you off how when you click the drop-down address bar you still see loads of web sites? Well here's how to stop it.

Here is how to turn off this fookin' annoying feature:
    1) Type “about:config” (without the quotation marks) into the location bar
    2) Click the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button
    3) Filter “browser.urlbar.maxRichResults”
    4) Double click the row and reset the value to “0″

    Job done.

This is why I used Chrome and the Mrs uses IE7. I don't think she even knows what Chrome is so never uses it

you've just made my week mate. been looking for a faster way to do this for years

of course in decent browsers you press ctrl+z for undo when you make a mistake like closing a tab, but I'm forced to use firefox because opera doesnt do a decent linux version and this is the one feature it's been lacking

knowing this i think i might actually like firefox just a little bit... maybe

Or you can click on "History" and then put your mouse icon over "Recently closed tabs" at the bottom and choose from there.

I keep on trying out firefox but there is one thing that bugs me and that is that i can't get it to open a new tab if i click something in my favourites it just opens it in the same tab

i know you can create a new tab and then open something in your favourites but i want it to open automatically like it does in maxthon

anyone know how to do this

I think Tab Mix Plus can do this, but could be wrong -

Edit: Just tried it, and it does exactly what you want, open Options, then Events, and tick the Open Tabs From: Bookmarks/History.

Cheers for that Mr. O. As much as I like much of FF, that was the thing that annoyed me. It seems everytime I started typing a url, it took over my PC like it was giving it a good defrag lol.

If you're using Tab Mix Plus (sounds like a few are now) you can also use ctrl and F12.

Dunno if it's the same if you aren't using Tab Mix Plus, I can't be bothered to disable it and restart FF.
