Motorcycle Test

Hello boys and girls, im after a quick bit of advice. I`v decided after 3 year driving my car, and a year and a half driving buses, i`v got rid of enough of the boyracer in me to trust myself on a big bike. I rode a moped at 16, and then a 125 at 17, and am fairly comfortable on bigger bikes, so i dont think i`ll have too many issues with the actual learning.

Now i understand if left it till just before the change of test so was wondering if anyone knows the sort of waiting time id be looking at, ie is the a chance of getting in before it changes. On top of this i still need to do my theory, which i suspect is again waiting for a date.

Any tips or advice would be welcome, i have been recommended a decent training company, although there shut on a monday so not all that useful just now.

April 24th is the last day you can do the current test, after that it moves over to the new one.

have you still got your CBT? you looking into doing DAS route?

either way get ya theory booked in NOW and get it done first,

im not from around MK but im sure someone can recommend you a good training school.

As biggy7 said, book your theory now. Ring them and tell them you are willing to take any cancellations at short notice. You can't book the practical test without passing the theory so get that done quick. I think you should be able to get it done before it changes o the new test nut you've gotta be quick.

when i went for my direct access cource i started mon morning and took my test on fri morning as they tend to block book test dates so if you crack on you should be able to nip in before the changeover date..

i just got off the phone to the DSA and booked up another 16 practical motorcycle tests in my area, all for the current test system.
there is plenty of tests and time to get it done before the new regulations come in - however, if you fail the first time, its going to be unlikely that you will be able to take the current test as a retest.

Thanks for the advice guys, i`ll get the theroy booked this week or next if not. Looks like it`ll be skin of my teeth but its worth a shot!

I would reccomend Horizon at the Bowl mate, been there years and just about to start DAS with them too..... Mates have used these and have given nothing but positive feedback. I am in 2 week in April so if i fail i'm fooked and will have to sit the new style test.

They did mention things have gone mad with people now rushing to book....
