never heard of that make (and i'm an advanced instructor with 10 years in the instructor game)

doesnt even feature in the sharp listings

if it has the euro standard markings then it will be legal but how safe is it? - without seeing the sharp star rating i wouldnt want it on my head

thats their web site, contacted some of the dealers for UK who replied saying stock coming in 2009 new helmet but i am thin king i fooked up when buying it.....trouble is newbie and all at the bike show i just loved the look and feel but now i'm wondering...

How often do helmets sell on ebay, i mean as i haven't even done my DAS yet its not an issue but would like to sell it really and get a Shoei i think now. Its noe been worn or onboxed. Its still got the stickers on th visor etc etc......

Would i stand a chance in flogging it ?

side note as the test hasn't changed yet has the price changed much for DAS? I am looking local to book up ASAP and some have whacked prices up over £100

the first words out of an instructors mouth in element A of a cbt are "never buy a second hand helmet"

so in theory, no one will buy it - however, there are lots of knobs on ebay that will buy any old shite

DO NOT buy a helmet on ebay - sell yes, buy - no

the test fee has gone up to £80 but the actual test is the same untill march 30th.
the cost of training has only risen in line with fuel costs so the total rises should only be about 30-40 quid over a weeks course

    ya live and learn mate!

my advice has always been - do not buy any kit untill after your CBT as the first hour of CBT is a full clothing chat, do CBT on its own and not as part of a course - always tell your instructor that you want to do a das course (even if you dont) - always ask to see your instructors warrant card (and make a note of the number there and then - they think you are a plant from the dsa and you get the full vip treatment!)

make sure you get a minimum 2 hours on the road as your element e road ride (that is the legal minimum)

Nice one thanks and would you say booking is a problem now due to the change or is it still quite easy to get booked in?

do cbt seperate, make sure they do a guranteed pass cbt.
ie if you fail to make the grade, you come back FOC - that wont happen on a course.

i charge £778 all in for a 5 day novice intensive course.

the government recently made made training courses VATable so the costs have gone up by 15% now

Cool gives me an idea on price, some local ones are like £660 but have guaranteed DAS pass.... if you fail they train you until you pass free (all you pay is the retest price). Others are saying they would access me and then offer package dependant on my skills etc.

To many options lol..... all i know is i want to make sure i don't make another silly decision!!!

    Hi Tin Can,

I have a Nuvo helmet that I got at the NEC show, having spent ages trying different ones and talking to the guys on the stand. As I have an odd shaped head I have to buy on fit, having found a few times that the helmet I really like doesn't actually go on my head. There was a bloke on the stand (blond, a bit chunky) who was very patient with me until I found one I was happy with. He even gave me a sweet!

Just around the corner from the stand I bought from was a stand showing how the helmets were made and when I asked the question about the Sharp test they were awaiting the results as they had not heard anything from the testing people; I guess there must be a backlog as they are quite new and there's a lot of helmets to test. They did say that the Nuvo range is built to the same standard and has the same sort of safety features as the Shoei range, but without the cost.

I got the impression that this was a new range to the UK, although there are quite a few dealers already selling these.

I hope this helps. I rather like the idea of being one of the first to have something new...

Now just got to find a black visor that will fit and still no spares for these unless you buy the helmet and they throw one in!!!

You may have got a bit of a bargain there then, but I would wait if I were you for the results to come up 'officially'. I am right in thinking the Sharp tests are out of 5, aren't I?
