News Leeds Give Mac the knife

Leeds United have announced that they have sacked manager Gary McAllister.
The decision follows a run of five consecutive losses, including the shock FA Cup defeat to Histon.
Saturday's League One slump at Milton Keynes Dons saw League One promotion hopefuls Leeds slip to ninth in the table.
A statement on the club's official website read: "The board took the decision following the recent poor run of results that has seen the club slip to ninth in League One, 15 points behind the leaders and five points outside the play-offs.
"The decision was made to ensure that the new manager, when appointed, has the maximum number of games possible to move the club up the table and also before the transfer window opens in January to allow him to identify any new players he thinks can strengthen the current squad.
"The club would like to place on record its thanks for the loyal service given to Leeds United by Gary since joining the club as manager in January 2008 and wish him every success in the future."
McAllister took over at Elland Road in January and led the club to the League One play-off final, but lost to Doncaster Rovers at Wembley.

    imo he had to go
too many players have dropped off form for it to be any other issue rather than poor managment and coaching .
maybe he could have been given more time but unfortunatly theres no room for centement in the game these days .

next manager odds at 18:23 sunday
Gus Poyet 2/1 maybe due to previous experiance
John Sheridan 3/1 no more ex players please we need a manager not a memory
Billy Davies 7/2 good experiance in these matters ?
Aidy Boothroyd 4/1 previous coach beat us to get watford up
Roberto Di Matteo 5/1 not very likely
Simon Grayson 9/1 no thanks same for any body lower in the list too
    Darren Ferguson 10/1
    Iain Dowie 14/1
    Steve Cotterill 16/1
    Joe Royle 16/1
    Gary Speed 16/1
    Paul Ince 16/1 COCK !
    Alan Curbishley 20/1
    Lawrie Sanchez 20/1
    Gordon Strachan 20/1
    Peter Taylor 20/1
    Dennis Wise 20/1
    Gianluca Vialli 25/1
    Peter Reid 33/1
    David O'Leary

I would love Gus to come back.. IMO he was a good tactitian and motivator when nick nack was managing from his london home.. !!

Its a shame to see Maca go but there has been a serious drop in form from the players int he last 3 months.. he has IMO a better team than most in this division and should be riding higher than 9th.

Don't you think Ginner recently has proved without Beckford we have feck all up front and the fact we have IMO too many has beens, I know you need a good mix of youth and experience but look at other teams in the League who have a star team not a team of old stars!

    not really
he handed in his resignation and is aloud to work where he chooses

blackpool can bleat about it but what can they do ?

so what they report leeds to the fa but it was blackpool that released the approach info into the public domain after the refusal to let talks begin so grayson resigned then went to talk to leeds anyway .

maybe a breach of contract on his part but i dont think they will get anything to stick although im sure the fa will make new rules up if it means punishing leeds again

I hope he brings Johnson back from his loan spell. One of our better players who hasn't had a chance this season. We look lost up front with Beckford.

his loan runs out on jan the first so he will be back

kandol has until the end of jan i think not that i want him back to play however i dont think he should be scoring goals for another team to get them up

beckford and robinson back in traing so could feature boxing day a good oppertunity for all the players to show what they have to offer with the new manager .

i actually think we have a chance now on boxing day rather than just getting our arses kicked under gary mac

The next few games will be a hard time for the manager, lets hope he can sort out the team and get them back on track

hopefully its not too late and imo the change was needed
too may players fell away from form for it to be anything other than bad coaching and man management .

best just go back to basics at this time and build from there onwards hopefully we can still reach the playoffs to give us a fighting chance

in a word, no. He has absolutely zero loyalty anyway, but would you stay the state we're in at the minute?
He will only sign if no-one else wants him - but on free someone in a better position than us will surely come in.
