Which Memory card?
Just got a Canon 1000D with kit IS lens for my xmas pressy from the missus. I have a powershot A610 atm with a 1gb corshair 133x memorycard in. Will that memory card be fine with this camera or would you recomend a bigger, faster or different brand of sd card?
If nature always takes the easiest route, what's easier...?

Takes SD cards so you should be alright. Would have a look on play as you can get 4Gb ones very cheaply on thee at the moment.

Does the speed not matter?
Also just as a guide, how big (filesize) is a 10.1Mp picture?

Jpeg shot on a 40D is 3.52 MB on highest settings. RAW is around 11Mb. I wouldn't go below a 133 to be honest as far as speed goes but best to check just how fast the camera will write on one of the card speed tests.
