Hi guys, So once I read the liteon key it is 100% possible to flash the drive using the same connections?
Is there a tutorial for using the flashing tools that I can follow? Looked on TX tutorials and there is nothing. I realise it takes time to write those things.
Just looking for some pointers before I take my new box apart
**EDIT, oops, just found the small tut in the text file. Sorry guys
I wouldn't use the Jungle Flasher guys. Freezes once you erase the lite-on. You won't be able to boot back into windows with the lite-on switched on.
Flash using the dos version of Dosflash.
no problems using jungleflasher here in windows. just erased and wrote to 3 drives all in a row. no reboots inbetween.
Mine is flashed. Wootage.
Can iprep be used to flash this as It freezes in windows?
No iprep, but you can use Dosflash, it has loads of prompts now like Iprep.
go here: http://team-xecuter.com/ck3/downloads.htm
grab iPrep 101 v008 Pro BetaCode:Latest version of the great app for creating a bootable Floppy/USB so you can update your Samsung & Benq Firmware. What's new/fixed: * Removed MTKFlash, now exclusive use of DOSFlash. * Forced use of removeable drives. * Win32 UI for DVDKey32. * Ability to generate valid BenQ/Samsung Lite-On Spoof Firmware. * Includes FirmTool 1.2, DVDKey32 v0.6, DosFlash 1.6. Thanks to Klutsh !
It doesn't spoon feed you as much. But its pretty much the same
If your drive freezes using Jungletool do this:
1) Make a dos boot disk
2)Copy the insides of the 'dos' folder in Ixtreme 1.5
3)Copy your newly made Ixtreme 1.5 file with your own key inserted to it (rename it IX15.bin for ease)
4) Make sure 'l-o-eras.exe' is in there
5)Boot to dos
6)Type 'l-o-eras.exe' followed by the port number you're using. In my case I wrote 'l-o-eras.exe EC00'
EC00 being my port number
7)Keep retrying untill you get a 'FF72' status after the command
8 ) FF72 = Fully erased drive
9)Type 'Dosflash'
10) Should talk some stuff about MTK Vendors and should find any dvd drives present.
11) Keep pressing 'N' untill you come across your Lite-on (Mine was listed as Unknown Drive on port EC00)
12) Press 'Y' when you get to your Lite-on.
13) It should come up saying a number of options talking about 'W for write' , E for Erase etc.
14) Type 'LITEON W'
15) Should come up saying 'Type the file name of the bin you want to flash'
16) Type 'IX15.bin'
17) Wait and it should flash 4 banks (might say erase again aswell)
18 )Wait for a data checksum
ALL DONE
Can the whole Liteon flash be read and saved as backup in case 1.5 flashing goes tits up?

Just got in to see this news! Just did my benq in dosflash manually and worked a treat. Didn't realise there was a new resource for iprep but installed that too now.
Fucking Liteon drive is really picky with backups.....keeps freezing and giving me dirty disc errors!!
I think my spoofed Sammy may go back in tomorrow!
