I didn't even use Iprep. Just make a bootable usb using HP Bootmaker and some Windows 98 boot files. Copy dosflash,dosflash.typ, l-o-eras.exe , firmtool 1.3 , Ixtreme 1.5 for liteon and you're away.

Similar here....My old p4.2,8Ghz PC that I use for flashing wont boot to a USB device, so I have a second hard drive in there, a small 10gb drive out of an old xbox, thats formated to Win98, but configured to boot straight to a command prompt rather than windows98 itself. I simply change the boot hard drive in the bios when I want to flash a Samsung, Lite-on, or Benq....and leave it to boot to XP for Hitachi's and drivekey32 etc.

Works great for me, and saves me loads of time compared to the floppy disk method I used to use.

How do these Liteons handle DVDR's then? I saw the initial release saying they were good then heard one bad report and nothing else since?

Just thinking about getting one so any help would be appreciated please

I had one issue and I re-burnt to a Fortis DL since then its been fine with all my other backups and I dont use Verbatim.

thanks to the original poster, this is just in time ive got a liteon drive here and im just waiting for the delivery of my new ck3 and probe etc from neo and im good to go.

Im designing a new website as i speak and will do doing repairs and guides for the 360 so i will try to help others.

All done. Thru' windows too.
Had to extract from scratch as I didn't get the identify.bin when I originally transferred to the Samsung drive.

Time to get me case tool out and swap back now.

Just done mine I had a problem with jungle flasher not being able to find my COM port through usb, So I opened CK3 tool and used that to detect my com port which was COM3 I then wrote that it in on jungle flasher and it flashed fine .

When you use cktool are you using the right port?

If you have the lite-on connected and powered on if you click the find ports and then querey ports does it show the lite-on being attached to one of them?

let wiondows load

open cktool

eject the drive and push it half in

turn the drive off then back on!

set the com and sata port

connect the probe

run dvdkey32

dvdkey32 is me problem atm-is this correct

i go cmd propmt and type dvdkey32 1460 3

is that correct format--1460 been my port and 3 been com 3--cheers

I only typed "dvdkey e200" just my sata port I never needed to add the com port but i'm using com 1 so it could be different, have you not tried ck3 tool 1.2.4 or TJ tool, work well here mate

use ck3tool mate it uses the dvdkey32 program itself

dont use dos command that only give u the ablitity to fuck it up.

use ck3 to quere the ports and find the com port.

make sure u eject the drive, push it in half way then turn the drive off then back on!

it will work, took me ages the first time but now do it in 5 secs

is it possible to spoof a liteon as 79? i have a 79 in my 360 but its shit at reading discs and i have 2 lite on sat here doing nothing.......thanks

7)Keep retrying untill you get a 'FF72' status after the command
8 ) FF72 = Fully erased drive
9)Type 'Dosflash'
10) Should talk some stuff about MTK Vendors and should find any dvd drives present.
11) Keep pressing 'N' untill you come across your Lite-on (Mine was listed as Unknown Drive on port EC00)
12) Press 'Y' when you get to your Lite-on.
13) It should come up saying a number of options talking about 'W for write' , E for Erase etc.
14) Type 'LITEON W'
15) Should come up saying 'Type the file name of the bin you want to flash'
16) Type 'IX15.bin'
17) Wait and it should flash 4 banks (might say erase again aswell)
18 )Wait for a data checksum

I'm not for a second doubting nibb but i found that i could try and try and get no-where but if i power cycled i'd normally get it on the second try.

right guys

following Team Ex tutorials to do a liteon

usingg ck3 pro

got the key using the probe using jungle flasher

come to erase it, turned ck3 off and on quickly and pc froze, yes im using a VIA

so i reboot, do it all again using the dump files, but every time i turn on the ck3 in windows it freezes the PC, it doesnt matter where i am, desktop or in jungle flashe. But if i tuen CK3 off when its frozen if i wait 1min it un freezes it self lol

what do i do!

The same happened with me ( I thought I bricked it at first )

I followed Omgporns post and it worked great

It doesn't spoon feed you as much.But its pretty much the same

If your drive freezes using Jungletool do this:

1) Make a dos boot disk
2)Copy the insides of the 'dos' folder in Ixtreme 1.5
3)Copy your newly made Ixtreme 1.5 file with your own key inserted to it (rename it IX15.bin for ease)
4) Make sure 'l-o-eras.exe' is in there
5)Boot to dos
