    Default HDX 1000 NMT Player

Anyone got a HDX 1000 NMT Player or a EGREAT EG-M31B.

If so any thoughts? I've got a Popcorn hour A-100 and was thinking of buying the A-110, but these seem to be getting some good feedback.

Here's a review of some 2nd gen NMTs:

I would also like to know if these are any good. Was looking at the Popcorn Hour but also at the Qnap...

If i were to buy another i would buy the EGREAT purely for the fact that it has a power button and supports eSATA which are my only 2 gripes with the popcorn hour but even those aren't a huge issue as i can just leave my eSATA HD on and share the folder on it anyway

I think for the money the Popcorn Hour still has it but if thats not an issue id get the EGREAT.............. I am of course only speaking from what ive read and seen on the web as i only have first hand experience with the PH

Doesn't make the decision any easier. I think i'll probably go for the popcorn hour purely because it is the one I have heard more about.

Can these things play ISO/IMG files? Or do you have to extract them to VOB?

So which one do you currently have?
Can I set it up to work with Newsgroups and auto D/L stuff?

After doing some research, I think the HDX is the one for me. I am sure they both do the same thing but I like the looks of that one more.

Not sure about ordering direct from them though, would be great if their was a UK reseller. If I still have a job next week I will invest If I don't I will still invest lol

Fook it, I might just order it now!

I'm kinda glad I have you my popcorn hour invite now CJ.

I was hoping my ps3 would do the job but having to convert everything is a bit of a pain in the ass (don't want to stream)

A-110 looks good and the price is still very nice.

    Hummmmmm.

OK, just found out my Overtime is to be paid next week. So I have placed my Order on the HDX Website

I'll be using it initially over the network but will stick a 1tb drive in it sooner or later

Can't wait now!! Playing Divx files off my 666mhz VIA chipset board is painful!! I'm justifying the cost of the HDX on the fact I won't need to use discs again (much).

I'll be introduced to a whole new world of HD files now too!!! Woo Hoo!!

I must admit I was on the Popcorn Hour site and the HDX at the same time with both at the checkout stage.

The HDX is about £3 more but it has Coaxial and Optical as well as a card reader & power switch!! I like the slim(ish) design of the popcorn hour but the deciding factor was the fact that Popcorn Hour is a 'pre-order' where as the HDX is shipped after 14 days...

From what I have read, they are pretty much identical, they even use the same remote!! Either way it'll be pretty much hidden away so the design is not that important.

However, they day it arrives i'll let you know pal. Trying to watch Sarah Connor Chronicles off my little server at the moment is painful!! However that will still be useful for hosting my site

I also was in two minds on which one out of these two to go for. Did have a PCH A110 on order but my card got rejected so after having a bit more of a read up I also opted for the HDX1000 a few weeks ago and got me tracking details on Thursday. Should be with me tomorrow/tuesday!

Got my HDX1000, aint really had much of a chance to have a poke, got it all hooked up and seems to work a treat with what i thrown at it so far (just having a quick play).. got Yet Another Movie Jukebox set up and looks quite peachy!

Need to get me a hdd to stick in it but so far so good... will have a better poke on the weekend....

They could pack it better for shipping tho as the box took a bit of a battering. And looks like they are no longer marking them as 'gift' after some people reported getting additional fines for have a false value declared. Mine was marked up at 80dollars value and 'sample' so if i get charged the VAT and such then shouldnt be too bad
