Cancel $ky + and still use as freeview and PVR?

Hi All

Previously, I've had a $ky box (normal one) and cancelled the package... this allowed me to still use the dish and reciever as a normal freeview or freesat style reciever... getting all the free to watch channels and even sky news. I then since moved home and took out a $ky+ contract a while back.

Now, I'm wanting to cancel my $ky contract and keep the kit, dish and $ky+ box.... heres the question:

Once cancelled, can I use the $ky+ box & dish to view normal free to view channels and then use the PVR facility to record the free channels. (my little lad loves the cbeebies).

You can use it as a freeview box, but you will have to pay £10/month for the pvr functions without a sub.

WHAT? pay SKY to use a facility.. which they charged my £80 in the first place.... is there any way around this ?

No.....unless you have a Pace pvr version 2 which can be modified with a jtag.

Its either pay £10/month for just the pvr functions or pay £16.50 for a basic sub then the pvr functions are included.

or get an alternate box, non-sky ofcourse
