The call for jihad is mainly to do with end time prophecies,

I'll give you a quick summary

Muslims believe in all the prophets from Adam to Muhammed and that includes Moses, Jesus, David, etc etc... peace be upon them all.

We believe all nations were given a guidance, such as believing the one God, we believe in the Torah and the Bible. In time the message of God was corrupted by the people and we believe prophet Muhammed was sent to finalise the message.

It is this corruption that is causing the hatred between the religions. The end time prophecies state in islam that the anti-christ will side with the jews, with the jews believing him to be the true messiah. Half of christians will side with the jews and half with the muslims.


That is is the islamic point of view, I haven't read the jewish view though

IMO this conflict between gaza and israel is just the start to what could eventually become a greater war involving Iran, syria, and all the other countries that surround it.

PS I believe because lots of things were prophecised 1400 years ago that are becoming true now,

for example a voice being heard in the sky, and both people in the east and west hearing it, in my opinion this can only be possible in a day of technology, e.g satellite tv, internet.

"Another one-way ceasefire that leads to rocket attacks on Israel is not acceptable. And promises from Hamas will not suffice - there must be monitoring mechanisms in place to help ensure that smuggling of weapons to terrorist groups in Gaza comes to an end."

Mr Abbas is president of the Palestinian Authority. Despite a bloody history his Fatah faction is now considered moderate when compared with the Islamist movement Hamas.
The White House earlier gave Israel free rein over whether it sends ground troops into Gaza.
Gordon Johndroe, a White House spokesman, said the US had urged Israel to avoid civilian casualties in their military operations, whether they involve air assaults or a ground incursion.
But he added: “Those will be decisions made by the Israelis.”

The solution is that the USA has to act as an honest broker to peace, and not just an accessory to Israeli apartheid and aggression.

HAMAS are a no real threat to Israel, they are a gnat on an elephant's back. In the last year the fired over 1200 rockets and killed one single Israeli. To claim that 400 Palestinian dead and >1000 injured is a price worth paying for Israeli security is beyond a joke.
