    Xbox 360 Offical wireless adapter disconnecting... looks like a power problem

    I have had my adapter ages now and for the last few months its been disconnecting.. it doesnt disconnect just from the network it totally cuts off and the power light goes off.

    I wondered if anyone has any ideas.. i am willing to take it apart and try and fix as i dont think MS will repair it for free and i dont think i could do with out live for the time it will be at microsofts magic shop

    A friend had this problem. It looked like the rear USB port had fucked up, as we tried it on one of the fronts and it works flawlessly.

    yea ... i think it might have fixed it, I also get disconnect on my guitar hero controller on any port

    try a small nail bored and clean up the contacts i had this problem on my top usb

    had a mates do this, hes got 2 big dogs in the house, cleaned out the usb slots, all good again. but if that dont work ms will send you another, at worst all they will want is the serial number off your old one to confirm you own one as a lot of people have blagged free stuff from them and they will just post it out to ya

    any tips for cleaning them out? do i just get a cotton bud and some nail varnish?
