MKV is now supported under DivX 7.0 so hopefully it should just be a matter of time since DivX is fully certified with the PlayStation 3.

Is there any particular reason you need it to play mkvs?

i download mkvs all the time and just run them through mkv2vob. it copies the audio and video into an mp4/mpg container which I then stream from media player. took about 2 mins to do lost season 5 episode 1 & 2 last night...

Don't hold your breath... They'd have to ask Microsoft for a license to code it into ps3... I don't think they'd do it on principle!

i know m8 still it would be nice lol im not that bothered about the divx either just the mkv (which i do the same way as you with mkv2vob)

the reason im not botherd about the divx is simply that i have a old xbox running xbmc for all my non hd downloads and thats capable of much more recent divx than that of 3.11 lol

I suppose. I don't have that issue myself as after I've converted it with mkv2vob I just stream it from media player as it's quicker to convert it than to copy it over the network
