Question Help with nLite & XP Pro

After reading in another thread about "nlite" I grabbed a copy and just trying to strip down XP now.

If I want to add windows applications would they be clased as "hotfixes, addons and update packs". I want to add media player 11 and the .NET framework.

I've managed to integrate SP3 OK and was just wondering if apps can be added?

Just seen this from the FAQ. Looks like it seen as a hotfix.

    How to integrate WMP11?
Download the WMP11 installer from Microsoft, install the WMP11 Slipstreamer then simply run nLite and insert the WMP11 installer into the Hotfixes page. Report any bugs related to the WMP11 Slipstreamer no their forum.

I'm guessing go to windows update site, then click on the link in the bottom left for admin/developer options then download the standalone installer. Iirc it will want to check to see if your windows is legit before allowing download.

I've got the WMP11 exe file and it's all cool. I just need this WMP11 Slipstreamer program but the link appears to be fucked.

Ahh, sorry, I thought you would just treat that as a hotfix, didn't read livesey's post properly.

Actually I'm sure nLite has an option for a program to run once after windows installation. Would do the job?

tbh I only wanted to have a copy that had SP3 and was fully automated so anything else is a bonus.

It would be good to get hold of the hotfixes and include all them but at the moment I really can't be arsed!

Yeah mate it's a DELL. I got the original DELL cd which is XP Pro with SP2.

After checking out this nLite I thought I'd give it a go and make my own custom install. You can add all the updates and IE, WMP etc, so you don't have to fuck about with everything after.

If you want the *.iso to the proper dell xp pro sp3 - pm me - even if you want to nlite it, it wouldn't be a bad starting point as it won't need activation or anything and is latest proper dell cd.

Right! I'm not that impressed with that nLite now.

I made my own custom XP SP3 CD and spent ages setting it all up. After giving it a blast half the settings it didn't even seem to change anything, and I never did manage to find that WMP11 slipstreamer.

It managed to integrate the SP3 and IE no probs, but tbh that didn't even give me a semi.
