first of all guys i want to thank you all help u have given to me. i would never have got this camera without u all
pics i took the day of scrabo tower..just outside belfast (newtownards) i have live in belfast for 38 years and never visited here (shame on me) veiws where amazing but weather was shite dull and cloudy.. btw im also getting more excersice now















and finally there a private airfield and this was my first attempt to capture a small plane ( was hard to get it into the view finder

Nice to see you getting out there with the camera mate. You've done pretty well with the exposure there, nice to see you trying different compositions. No1 is probably the best composition.

Hope you're not shooting on auto... That would be a waste of a DSLR

What Neo said. Getting out there is the first step whether it be cold or warm, shite skies or blue

Compositionally, #1 does have more to offer the eye and the sky is nice (with a bit of burn in it would be very cool)

There are some other interesting compositions in the tower but you've got some nice sharp images so good stuff. Keep on doing it

Your shots are getting better Leo Do you know about the rule of thirds? I'd never heard of it (thought those grid lines on my cam where for getting things straight!) until someone pointed it out on here. I recon that would have helped with these pics because the tower always seems to be centre of the pic? Still cool though!

cheeky cunt of course im not. never use it on any of the presets. have the 450 set on M and fiddle with the speed and iso and fstop
any pointesr for better infoand guideance on them ???

Get a book called Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson and read it a few times. That should set you on the way to getting a little more creative with your exposure. Looking good by the way and the first one was on landscape mode but I won't tell...

looking good mate, as everyone says its about getting out and about.......... silly things turn out as great shots and what you think is good doesmnt its part of the fun of it

try 7dayshop.com for cheap filters........ Id get a ND8 (neutrel density) which will allow long exposures (good with rivers/waterfall etc) and just have a general look at what else they have filter wise

Beware of cheap filters as they won't help with vignetting, chromatic aberration and lens flare. Have a read up of reviews of filters you are thinking of buying before pressing the buy button. Only use B+W MRC or Hoya Pro Digital myself.

appreciate what your saying but for starting out and having a bit of fun you cant go wrong for a couple of ££

On the first one, I would have moved slightly around to the right so that the fence ran from the bottom left corner of the photo. But apart from that, I like it.
