check the scart cable, try swapping it with another if you have one

It is if he was using the RF out, and had something else such as a VCR or SAT receiver on a channel very close to the boxes output.....

i used to get ghosting from the telly analog signal coming down the scart lead when I was watching a DVD. It was caused by the analog signal being available on the output pin of the scart, which then went into the input pin on the DVD. Fixed it by snipping the wire at each pin.
