Default 85Mbps Powerline Homplug Adapter - Twin Pack £34.99

Good value these at £34.99, had a pair delivered today and work very well, no need to install just plug and play, I am running these with SKY broadband with no problems and getting a very solid connection with consistent NG speeds, much better than the shitty Belkin wireless adapter i picked up from Argos some time ago.

They also come bundled with 2x ethernet cables

Even on seperate ring main, wether your on an old type fusebox or a modern consumer unit both of the rings you talk about oare being supplied by the same feed i.e. either the same buzz bar or from the same 100 amp supply so it just keeps feeding back down the circuit until it finds a loop thats all.
I agree tho about the 200MM ones great fr streaming HD content to my kiss box. And I paid a damn sight more than you guys for my Dlink ones about 89 quid I believe each!!! but that was when they were new technology

Thanks, but im a little confused still, for the whole idea of seperate rings is so they work indiviually, for safety. I know that they have the same feed, but thats on the other side of the fuse box, and its the trip fuse box to seperate each ring and provide a seperate source for each one.
Does this mean you are actually networking beyond your fuse box and possibly to the street? I suppose this is why they have encryption in them if thats the case.

    link for amazon ones?

Also my set up is router wireless currently sat by phone socket. Imac desktop upstairs and then ps3 downstairs that i stream movies too. I also then have a macbook for wireless internet etc.

Could i purchase 3 of these items and plug one by the router and then one by my desktop and one by my ps3 and would this then give me the option of them all talking too each other? i.e steam movies between desktop and ps3 and then still using wifi for macbook as and when i want it.

Also assume this just work with OS X too?

Any ideas on my set up

    Thanks

Dont know about 3, i have only ever brought even numbered sets... dont see why not.
it will work with any OS, all it is really is a network port on a rather large plug, plug what you like in it.

Three should be fine. I've got one next to my router and two upstairs for the kids PCs and no hassles.

Dont Ponder too long on the mystery, they work.I have a router with 1 pc wired and a wifi laptop downstairs and and use 1 of these accross the powerline to another upsatirs, which is connected to an old cable router i had in the spares box,set it as a switch and run another 3 pc s in the top floor.
    Magic bit of kit.
Top floor 1 is on 24/7 and never gets very hot.

As for the Street,it wont pass the meter,go nextdoor and try if you get on with the neighbours.

All they need is one cable that has continuity throughout your wiring system, this only requires a live or neutral or even an earth, you have that in your mains feed wether your rings be on a seperate circuit or not they are all fed from the same source its as simple as that.
