Question Anyone go to a boxing Gym?

Hi guys need to get some fitness back and lose some timber and I am thinking of joining a boxing gym, I have tried a traditional Gym but just could not get motivated and found that the machines I needed to use were always busy which became very frustrating.

Does anybody here attend a boxing gym, what can I expect?

Here is my local one which is literally a 10 min walk from my house

I picked up a leaflet of theirs in the kebab shop of all places lol, says it all really...

    Thanks

I used to do Boxercise then I did Muay Thai see if you can find any of those classes as they worked wonders on me. Our warm up lasted 20 Minutes with everything from Pressups and Sit Ups to Gentle Jogging.
Classes consisted of learning a few techniques and a lot of Sparring regardless of level and believe me the weight goes faster than you would think. The guy I trained under was on The Asian Contender last year and got to the Semi Finals is a really down to earth guy too.

I'll see if I can dig out any links for you what area u in???

Thanks mate. I looked for something like this a few years back but couldn't find one close to me. Thanks for the link.

If you practice by yourself don't punch the punchpag while it's swinging into you! I did that and injured my rotator cuff 6 months ago and it's still recovering.

Yeah I trained with Sean till he went to Thailand then Robert took over. When this happened I started just going to the Gym that John had in Finnieston and trained there with him.
As for grades didnt do any but looking back should have. I am considering going back as my fitness is shot to shit.

    Did u go Mik???
