Question Component cable for PS3 ok?

Hi peeps, yes... it's been a long time!

Anyway, I have recently got a PS3 (again) and have run out of HDMI ports on the PX-60 Panny 42".

My questions is: Do you think getting a component cable would be the best solution and are the official ones really any better?

    Many thanks

    Spoony

Component for the PS3?? I didn't know this was possible! If I had one of those I could get a Sky HD box then If you find one and its as good as HDMI can you post a link as i'd love to get one.

Thanks for your replies, I don't have HDMI audio usage on my amplifier so I really can't see the picture being any worse using component than HDMI.

I am using HDMI for the TVIX and one for the 360.

PS3 is third in line in my book

Thanks for the comments and I will have a look for a shielded cable

its not going to be as good as hdmi cos it's analogue so will degrade depending on how good your cable is. Perfectly acceptable though if your cable is good (although the geeks will tell you its not)

Ok, I will see if I want to keep the PS3 any more than two weeks and probably get myself an HDMI switcher as suggested above

I went from HDMI to component for the same reasons as you but I was soon back to HDMI and now use a switch.

Weird things would happen with dvds from time to time when using component, upscaling doesnt work and although it is inconvenient for me to use a switch I do prefer it overall.

Sorry, forgot to add that there was nothing wrong with the picture quality. I was surprised how good it was when working well, I couldnt tell the difference but I'm no av geek.
