    Help PC freezing on bootup

    Hi all,

My problem sounds similar to Evilsatans posted in this area, but his setup up sounds a lot more complex than mine, so I'm hoping mine is a simpler fix!

When i come to boot up my pc in the morning i'm having to restart it several times before it will actually become usable. It boots to xp like any other time, but then as programs start to load in the bottom corner, it'll get one icon there, then the little autohide arrow disappears and it doesn't load anything else. The mouse pointer still moves, but everything else is inactive, even ctrl, alt and delete don't do anything.

Now if i press my reset button it does the same thing, sometimes it loads a different program in the bottom corner, but it still freezes. If i hold the power button in for it to shutdown, leave it a few seconds then start again, it usually boots up normally and it works perfectly well.

I have run several progs to try and get rid of spyware and registry probs, (super anti-spyware, spyware doctor, malware bytes, ad-aware, regcure, ccleaner and spybot s&d) and those also along with a program called trojan remover, have thrown up a few problems that even after the programs claim to have gotten rid of them, are still showing up when i do a fresh scan. Those files are:

    OLHRWEF.EXE
    j60osk9.cmd
CDOOSOFT.EXE (i have spotted this in the startup area of CCleaner and disabled it, but it seems to overide that and start up again!)

I also had VE.EXE and VAMSOFT.EXE but these haven't shown for a few days now so I might have got rid of these.

Its starting to piss me about a bit now, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I really could with not going down the road of a complete reinstallation if poss.

    Thanks in advance.

Reinstall your OS will be the quickest option mate as sounds like your OS is beyond repair

i used to be the same until i found Acronis 20 mins it takes me to reinstall my OS/Drivers/All Applications after i break it or virus hits it.

i would recommend creating a backup using acronis after you do this install saves so much time.

What you do is Format your hard drive (Create a OS partition and Document partition)
    Install all your drivers
    Install windows updates
    install virus software
Install all your applications (office, Firefox, VLC etc every thing you need)
Move my Documents folder to D: or second hard drive (Right click my Docs move)

    Then install Acronis
Hit Create Boot able rescue media (your Recovery Disk) used if you
can't get in to the OS.

Once you have done the above hit Backup go thought few options on in
the wizard and save it to a external or 2nd hard drive (Takes a full
copy of your hard drive and settings as done above)

so when you break it or OS starts to run slow, crashing gets a virus etc.

Start > All Programs > Acronis > Restore select your back up file.
    will ask to reboot
20 mins later you system will be back to EXACTLY the way it was when
you made the Image ie all your applications and windows updates all
    installed.

Saves me hours using this got a copy of all my family's PC's and when
they break it 20mins later OS , Drivers apps are all reinstalled

Thats how i do it as well,i wish more people did it as well.
Thing is this option allows you to format and play with Win 7 and then go back to your old OS in a few minutes.

Have you tried booting in safe mode then running malwarebytes? Good idea for a fresh install anyway but this way you can copy and save some data you might need. Else plug into another computer and copy data off

Another thing I might suggest is running "msconfig" from the Start>Run menu. This will bring up an applet that will allow you to disable services and applications that kick off at start-up. You'll want to focus on the Services and Startup tabs. I've been able to isolate and disable problem apps in that manner. It's easier than rebuilding your system
