    Default Self Portrait

I have written the wording for this several times now but things like "found myself messing about in the bathroom mirror" and "was messing about with the camera in the bathroom" seemed like open season for the usual suspects to turn this thread into something smutty and make me out to be a pervert. So ha. I didn't print it. Sh1t I did. Oh well. Here's my self portrait. Enjoy

How? Every pic of yours I look at makes me even more jealous as fcuk!

Love the shaprness and lighting down the lens and it's contrast with the 'portrait'. The simpleset touches of B&W with the one red letter is just the icing on the cake. Love it!

Cheers guys, glad it has been well received.

BBLeo - Uh you, but in a good way, wouldn't have you any other way. Ughhh There I go again...

That lens is very sweet well worth the dosh i paid for it. The more I use the more I love it. If you have the cash get one.

Forgot to add shot with flash bounced off ceiling, the into lightroom for a few minor colour temp and tonal tweaks, then converted to black and white, and then a high contrast split tone added. I tried it first on the colour version but it looked pants, works so much better on a black and white one with a little extra contrast added first.

That's really good mate.. just goes to show, a lot of people strive to shoot something original/trendy etc. but even the most basic idea for a shot can look good with enough thought.

About 20, first few setting flash and camera settings, then tried it with eye closed, but it looked bad, so shot with both eye's open. For me it was bloody hard to shoot with both eye's open. I had about 4 shots I could use in the end. Some not as tightly cropped and you could both hands steadying the camera. This one was shot one handed and cropped to remove distractions
All in all about 20 mins from firing up the camera to running it through lightroom and photoshop.

    I stand by my assessment
Can't see your hair (or lack of) in your shot
and you've got that moody "I wanna shank someone" look in your eyes lol

Ah, now I get your nick

Really like the shot Matt. Mirror portraits taking a pic of onself taking a pic are completely cliched, but this one works nicely.

Insane, the lens isn't 77mm, thats the filter size. Its the 24-105....

Nice shot Matt, taken well, the processing works and very nice glass indeed. Something I'd like but I would need to go full frame beforehand
