Default Windows 7 Gone. XP Media Centre...?

I've reinstalled XP Pro SP3 as Windows 7 doesnt quite cut it with the compatibility stakes at the minute (being Beta).

I've recently bought a Media Center remote control that my XBox 360 recognises (not my PC).

Which Extender (if any) can I control with this remote using Windows XP? I know it's fully compatible with Windows Media Centre Extender through the XBox, but Windows XP SP3 doesnt support Media Centre as far as I can tell.

Am I just back to using the Pictures/Videos menu's for shared drives on my PC? If so, will probably get Windows 7 on again and get around the issue's I had with Orbit's Watermark removal glitch with the compatibilty mode pulavar.

    --EDIT--
Tried Cyberlink PowerCinema 6, but it doesnt seem to connect as an Extender, was expecting that, but thought it was worth a try!

I've been reading up on trying to get WMC installed into Windows XP Pro and someone stated they found a place that explained how a while back, but has since 'gone offline'.

It's apparently not easy as it's part of XP Media Centre 2005's install. I'm thinking that going back to Windows 7 Beta and not using the Watermark remover is probably a better option.

Dont really want to install XP Media Centre as I've heard it's crap.

bit short for time right now, but found an addon I have around somewhere, links and documentation seem to be there.

..the addon is meant to be slipstreamed into the source cd, but from what I've read so far on the thread there are discussions about how to use it post install..

if you need help I'll look into it in more detail later
