Windows 7 comes with a corking firewall that works great... Click start > type windows firewall in the search box and select windows firewall with advanced security...

You can configure highly detailed rules from here.

I use comodo works fine although you have to run in vista mode from the compatability tab to get it set up

Do either of you use peerguardian with windows 7, couldn't get it to work either.

Did you try what I put above I had problems getting it to install until I changed compatibility mode on it then it worked just fine - Nibb had to do the same as well to get his to work with Windows 7. Also Comodo is prolly the best IMO.

It's just as secure as any other firewall on the market. Just not as pretty or easy to use as some of the others.

But if you're connected to the internet via a router you're not only protected by your windows firewall, but the firewall on the router and you also have a 3rd form of protection in the form of Network Address Traversal (NAT). Which basically means that your PC can't be contacted from the internet without it first making the connection to the hacker...

Even in compatibly mode, comodo not working for me, i will stick with 7's own firewall until something more useable/stable comes out, thanks everyone
