Default Should I Jailbreak or not? New iphone

    Hi all,

Got myself an iphone last week with O2 monthly contract, no problems, old contract was up and the signal is great where I am.
I was just wondering if there is any benefit for me in Jailbreaking the phone. What are the positives and negatives from this. Or is it mainly the first step for many people in unlocking their iphones?

    Thanks for your help guys.

Yup I did mine as soon as I got it and haven't regretted it. I thought i'd fooked things up when some dodgy app i'd installed stopped my official app's from working but Ii just reinstalled them.

Today i've been going through the App Store and then downloading any App that I wanted for free.

If you don't like it or are worried then do a system restore and you are back to normal again.

    Thanks for your feedback guys.
When you've jailbroken your phone can you still access Itunes and appstore, just as normal.
I think from reading the stickies above, you have to reset your phone when you jailbrake, but does this reset everything, including calender, contacts and email accounts. What happens to the apps I have actually paid for, (not many I must admit, most are free) . It will be a pain in the ass if it does. Should have done it straight away me thinks.
    Cheers

yes you can access apps as normal via appstore.

if you've already set up itunes on your pc/mac, you will retain whatever apps you have bought and itunes will retain your contacts etc if you've synced with your iphone
