Default New 2007 Touareg - Correction

    Hi All

These new VW Touaregs are now CAN based right? I know that the older ones were not CAN.

Has anyone been able to correct the miles on one of these new Touaregs using the Tacho-Universal/Diga-Consult/Dashfixer via OBDII?

Anyone programmed these via eeprom? What eeprom do they use?

    Thanks

Hi not sure about the Touaregs.I thought that all Vw,Skoda,Seat and Audi were all on the Vag system and could all be done through the diagnostic socket.I have done a few Vw and skoda in the last year and they were all less than a year old and they were all done through the diagnostic socket. It would be worth trying it through diagnostic first as you will find when you boot the machine up and choose your vehicle if its require you to do it to the eeprom it will show you the eeprom numbers on the tacho if not then it will let you do it instantly..Let us no how you get on as i wouldnt mind finding out if it does have to be done by eeprom..Cheers

Yes the newer A3, Golfs and TT's do but this is supposed to have a 24c16 eeprom instead of the older 24c08?

hmm just talked to a m8

he said u should be able to do it via vw autodetect with obd k+ cable

or k+can or enigma can do this via obd

or u can read the chip with eeprom programmer and post dump and some 1 will edit it for u

Thanks Fes_786 - Its definately CAN and not K-Line based unilke the older ones, I will just take the plunge and have a look at the data via eeprom. Are you currently using anything to write to the EDC15/EDC16 eeprom (Mileage) for the VAG cars? Its good to see that I am not the only brother out there doing this kinda work.

No - Im going to retry with CAN Autodetect and failing that (likely) will read data from eeprom using Tacho Universal, you do know that you can do that regardless if the vehicle is listed or not don't you? Its the eeprom ID which is important which in this case is 24c16, so I can use a Touran program to read the data, save it, edit it, write all.

Will let you know how it goes if interested.
