Default 2004 Audi A3 Correction Required - London and Surrounding Area

    Gents

A friend has a 2004 A3 TDi to which he has just fitted a new model (2009) dash insert into. The dash insert is in and working properly however the dash insert was a used one so he'd like the mileage aligned to it's previous value - Can anyone help?

He had a guy look at it today using a tool called elprosys but they couldn't manage it.

Car is located in East Sussex but he is willing to travel.

    Thanks

Hi did the guy try through the diagnostic socket or did he remove the instrument cluster as with the audi a3 there are 2 different ways for them to be done. Some can be done simply through the diagnostic socket and some need to be done by a clip going to a chip on the instrument cluster.I have a step by step guide on how to do it with the tacho universal if needed. Not sure if it works the same way as the elprosys but i would imagine there wouldnt be much difference maybe justthe display on the machines.Im sure someone will keep me right if im wrong.lol.If you do need the instructions let me no and ill e.mail them to you.Remember some of the Audi have a record of the mileage stored on the ecu somewhere so if your friend plans to put it further back than the original mileage make sure he knows if its safe to do first..Good luck

    Thanks Paul

Just asked him and it seems the first bloke tried OBD and direct methods without success.

He's not after 'losing' any miles so the ECU side of things would remain correct.

Between us we don't have any of the equipment so he's looking for a service ideally.
