    Rant Replying and giving thanks

I like to give thanks to a post that in my opinion is well thought out, informative, that I agree with, or just plain funny.
I also like to reply to posts which I have an opinion on. If I don't have an opinion I don't get involved, but I still like to read the post.

So having to reply to or thank someone just to be able to see WTF they're on about is a pain in the arse. All it does is artificially inflate their "thanked" count, or conversely increase my post count

If a posts worthy of a reply or a thank, then I'll willingly give either or both, but forcing me is pretty piss poor.

You do not have sufficient rights to see the hidden data contained here.

I thought that my VIP subscription gave me those rights by default?

and having to give either just to see some tiny fucking thumbnail image of some girl getting drilled is wank - Click the picture ? sure, then get 50 fucking popups full of shite appear.

Perhaps there should be a "no thanks" button which gives instant bad karma.......

    Rant over

Agreed. Im tending to totally ignore threads with these in, as far as I'm concerned we're all adults here, and should be treated like them

I am badly missing that ignore threads function though!!!!

I agree on the forced thanks point but the reply to thread to view I feel is a good idea if used correctly.
for example in the case of a pure information thread that gets viewed and may be thanked but it's content does not warrant or provoke a reply in these cases it helps to keep that post current and give the opportunity to more members to view that post before it dies off to the second page of a section.

I don't mind the thanks one, it's perfectly simple to press the remove thanks button if the post is not worthy.

The 'reply to see' hack is handy for seeing what the perverts here like

As for clickable thumbs not working properly, that's down to the automatic image resizer fucking that up.

Lol, I remember I had a few more than I have now but I also recall someone's sig on another forum saying something like 'you are not your post count, you are not your 'member since' the year dot.. you are not your
karma level or thanks amount...make a post sounding like a cock and you have it'

    Made me laugh

Didn't all our karma levels rise according to the thanks lost though? My karma went up to 670something, and I'd swear it was only 400 something before.

Yes all karma figures have risen, some more than others....imo the current K figures reflect more on the number of posts you have made.

It seems that members with high post counts K has gone up more that other members whose post count isnt so high.
