When connected to Tomtom Home use the "Update my Device" function & keep updating until no more updates are available. Should then have the latest official navcore for your Tomtom. Next patch the ttsystem file, add & activate the map & also add the latest postcode files.

OK - first think to do is to make a full back up copy. A couple of options for you now.
Either use Tomtom Home to remove everything except map folder & postcode folder (named zip) & then check for updates - hopefully it should update now. Test to see if it works - may need to patch the ttsystem file on your tomtom & then activate the map. Can then delete old map & postcode files & add new files / folders & activate map (& patch ttsystem file if not done yet).

Or again make full back up copy, then delete everything except for the map folder & postcode file folder (named zip). The see first post in this thread & add the v8.204 navcore. Test to see if it works (may need to activate your map ?). Can then either try to update again or stay with 8.204. If it updates you will need to patch the ttsystem file. Can then delete old map & postcode files & add new files / folders & activate map.

Hi Tigger (or anuyone who knows)
What is the non charging problem with the 910 ?
Did you actually get map version 2157 to work on the 910 ?
I have tried mine i followed russ's excellent guide it all loaded and i used the navcore from russ's g0500 but when i rebooted it, she just locked up before geting to the splash. ( oh i did change the splash and anitheft bmps)

    Anyideas ?

I reset it and then tried to use Home to control it but it said that i needed a new file and to contact TomTom support . The info details of the report are below

Try activating the map again & yes you can use this or nearly any other map on a Go910. If you tried to copy the mapsettings.cfg file from the old map folder, try removing it again if you have boot up problems.

    Thanx Russ
I hadn't done anything with the mapsettings.cfg. I will Try putting that in. I just thought that the western n central Europe cfg may have been different to the uk one.
Dont know if it makes anydifference but the unit only works thru home.
I'll let you know what happens, .Russ do you know what the "easy" not charging problem is on the 910?

The mapsettings.cfg file is the file that stores your favourites, home location etc., but sometimes by copying it into a new map folder it can cause your Tomtom to freeeze during boot up.
When you used the v8.204 I posted - did you delete everything from your memory card first ?
If no - delete everything & start again, or try using a different memory card.
Have you tried to activate the map again ?

Hi Russ , thanx for help
I'm trying to load it all onto a Go910, it hasn't got a memory card only 20gb HDD. I have deleted everything but it still shows as having about 100mb still in use.
I did try re activating the map, I tried patching the nav( it said already patched) I tried starting all over again all to no avail so I have restored everything back to original to make sure that it is ok and yeh it works fine.
Can I use a newer map than v825?
Will navcore work without a map installed ?
I would really like ALG but if it not poss then will I be able to use the latest map with navcore 7.9 ? Do I just need to patch the tts ?
    Regards
    W

You can use most of the latest v860.**** maps without ALG & IQ routes with Navcore v7.9**. but if you want maps with IQ routes & ALG you need at least Navcore v8.204. There are some maps out not that will only work with Navcore v9.02 or higher.
If you use an official version of Navcore then yes you do need to patch the ttsystem file & then activate any maps.
What is the map name & full version number of the map you have tried ?

Do you know where i can find the lastest maps for 910,with and without ALG & IQ ....
I have got 835.2421 so far.

    Thanx again for your help.

    Edit - its a 910.
I am going to have a go as it may be a hardware fault.

    Russ,

    Quick question.
Have a 500 that has developed a prob, won't boot at all.

Reckon reinstalling as per this thread might get the thing back to life ??
Would be brilliant, as I had written the thing off and got tom-tom on t'iphone !!

    @ weallneedhelp & Russ

I had the charging problem with a 910. I could not complete a backup (kept bombing at temporary.iti in the itn folder)
As the TomTom was inoperable apart from Home mode I deleted that file (had nowt to lose)
Copied the content across to my itn folder on the tomtom from your files.

TomTom now boots and is charging...... it had been making a slightly odd noise - like a HD fail.

    Anyway......

just getting Western Central Europe 860_3101

    &

    SE_Navcore.9.205.547817

will give that a crack tomorrow (as few other sources say they work fine together ??!!??)

    Will let you know

    Si

One way to find out & that's to try it .
Could also try deleting the file named 'mapsettings.cfg' from your map folder as this file can occasionally cause freezing problems during boot up - (but keep a back up copy of the file).

    Russ, as per previous thread.
Not sure you have come across this one before but seems to have done the trick.

TomTom was making a bit of an odd clicking noise and failing to boot, sounded like a HD fault and I had written it off. Read the thread and started to mess about.
Before I started I attempted a backup (as it would boot whilst docked and on TomTom Home)
Backup would fail @ temporary.iti in the itn folder.
I deleted that and I copied in the same file from your download pack. May be just a coincidence but TomTom now will boot of its own accord.

Next job, got Western Central Europe 860_3101 and SE_Navcore 9.205.547817.
Few forums stating that this combination will work on a 910 so I will give it a whirl.

Sorted. Map and Navcore are compatible.
Voices dont work at first - but a quick connect to Home and they are restored.
Updated with Mapshare and then with SpeedCams etc

    Result
