It depends on your Operating System on your PC, but first you need to try to use Tomtom Home to operate your Tomtom - it will then ask you to download a file - so let it do this & then try again to operate your Tomtom - you'll get an error message. next step - close down Tomtom Home - if you see icon in your system tray - right click & select close.
Then use Albert's activation tool - select Step 6 - patch My Home DLL - then keep opening the folders until you get to the one with the DLL in it.

I'm using Window XP - so the location on my PC for the DLL file is :-
    C:\Documents and Settings\Russ\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\19jm8kqe.default\extensions\Navcore.8.204.9718@tomtom.com

You might have to set your PC to show hidden files & folders.
On your PC your folder will have similar name to 19jm8kqe.default
& the folder named Navcore.8.204.9718@tomtom.com will depend on the version of Navcore you are using.

[EDIT] - just found this info :-
    DLL Folders locate.

    Users of XP:
    Version Home v1.x:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ApplicationData\TomTom\HOME\Navigator Dlls\

    Home version up to v2.1:
    C:\Program Files\TomTom Home2\xul\plugins\emulator\navcore

    Home version v2.2 - x.x:
    C:\Documents and Settings\????\ApplicationData\TomTom\HOME\Profiles \????.default\extensions\Navcore.?.?????@tomtom.com

Users of Vista / Windows 7:
    C:\Users\???????\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\?????????.default\extensions\Navcore.?.?????@t omtom.com

    Users of Mac:
    User's_Home/Library/ApplicationSupport/TomTomHOME/Profiles/????????.default/Resources/Extensions/Navcore.?.???.????.mac@tomtom.com/?-???- ????-/.framework

Shouldn't have to re-set it every time. Have you got the latest navcore on your Tomtom ? - Use Tomtom Home to upgrade.
I've posted a new activation tool here -

If you have problems with Albert's try the new one.

When running albert's easy activator iget this "75 unable to decompress keygens. Run as Administrator, message path/file access error" press ok and get it again, one more press gives a runtime error 339 "richtx32.ocx or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered:a file is misssing or invalid.
My account is an admin account and I'm using Vista home premium. Has anyone come across this? Am I being a total numpty and missing something?

Not got (& don't want) vista, so can't help with this problem, but have a look at this new activation programme -

Thanks for putting this guide up! I have tomtom one and i want to buy a memory card for it so i can put more maps on but i cant seem to find sd cards bigger than 2gb that arn't SDHC. I think that 2gb is not enough space. These new cards will not work in my tomtom right? Anyone know where i can get a 4gb card? Thanks

Not 100% sure, but I think if you are using a newer bootloader you can use larger SDHC cards.

Got UK & Ireland on my TT. I'm going to Crete 2mora and wanna use my phone over there with it on.

    Anyone
    a) Know the map I need (Have got Southern Europe and Western Europe (2GB).
    b) Know how I can activate it? I've tried the above and it doesnt seem to work, is it the Map version perhaps?
