Sky HD Waiting List?!

Their aggressive advertising must be paying off - I phoned up to order Sky HD last night, I was told I could only "register my interest". I will be contacted when a box and an engineer would be available.

No idea how long that would be, but apparently the sky engineers are working 7 days a week at the moment to keep up with demand. I also heard that new customers are getting special treatment, i.e. installed within a week!

Anyone ordered HD, how long did you have to wait?

i phone up 3 weeks ago and they were out i think one week from the phone call wasnt that long

im still waiting ordered it about 5 weeks ago so it would be ready when my new tv came but still waiting for comformation 2 weeks after tv arrived

I had them round on monday swapping my HD box, according to the sly engineer all boxes sent out in Q4 2008 could have a fault and are being recalled, this could be slowing them down a bit with new installs

Reserved my place, 2 days later had the offer of installing it. Told them to shove it when they said it was another £30 installation, as I ALREADY have Sky Multiroom! What a rip!

You have to take out sky multiroom, to get free installation.

Just like Sky, screwing existing customers!

So let me get this straight.

An engineer comes round, puts up a dish, runs a cable and connects the box up and it is free. Total time taken, 30-45 minutes.

Same engineer comes round and just swaps the boxes and it's £30!!!! Total time, 2 minutes. WTF!!!

well i've just cancelled my Sky+ package and put in an order for Sky+HD via quidco £120 cashback works out same prices as staying with standard Sky+.

Earliest they can "install" is Thursday 26 April.

Just thought I would post of my recent experience with sly.

I already have it in my living room but I wanted to take advantage of the hd box for £49. I contacted them and they told me I had to pay £30 instalation fee, so I said balls and cancelled subscription. 2 days before my subsription ran out I got a letter and a phone call offering me hd without the installation fee...

i'm getting mine installed on friday.

had to wait about 5 weeks from first registering my intrest though.

my dads mate has just had his installed and they ran new coax, new dish and lnb to his.....not sure if they do that to all, probs not i'd imagine
