No 1TB will be fine just set it up with copy plus, this allows you to copy over recordings from your old drive too

It will still reserve 160GB for Anytime services though so you will only have 840GB usable space.

That's half of why I want to change the drive mate. There are only so many recordings I can take of shitty soaps/Super fucking Nanny. Changing the drive will blitz all those When they start to reappear the new drive will suddenly have a fault and I'll put in another spare drive
