Default Bootable USB pen drive MAC OSX86

Sorry didn't know which forum to put this in.
I have a Intel based laptop that i want to run MAC osx86 10.5.6 on, but the dvd drive is dead, I have the dvd image file on my pc and was hoping to boot and install it from my 12gb usb drive.

Am looking for some pointers on making my usb drive bootable and be able to install the MAC osx86 from it.

    Cheers in advance.

I used THIS Guide to install OS X on my MSI Wind clone (Medion akoya) successfully and it runs fine.

I am currently trying to update it to 10.5.6 with THIS guide.

*EDIT : Now running 10.5.6 and updated touchpad drivers too so they work as they should

cheers mate, certainly plenty to go with there.
Was kinda hoping to blow the drive clean (only 40gb) and just run the mac osx though

This is the one I am running - OS X 10.5.6 Install Disc Universal Final (for x86)
Presuming it is good to go on my laptop.

How are you getting on installing 10.5.6 with that release (OS X 10.5.6 Install Disc Universal Final (for x86)) ?

Not very well mate, having issues trying to get a bootable usb pen, the only way i have found is use a working MAC machine to make my 12gb pen bootable for MAC OS x, until I get that done I am going nowhere fast.

i put a broadcom (94321) wlan card in my acer aspire and it's recognised and runs as a real airport card in osx - well worth a purchase if you're using osx alot.

by the way, the broadcom 94321 is rebadged as dell 1500 and 1505 (i think) so that may make it easier to find on ebay. The other thing I hadnt mentioned is that they are mini pcie cards
