iRealSMS - dont like the current update ? Roll back !

As you would, I installed the update when it appeared on cydia the other day, all of a sudden many of the features I liked got broken or would act odd. Seems they have a load of problems with the current full release (2.0.8.2) and have made the last full release available now so that you can roll back (2.0.8.1)

You need to uninstall the current one from cydia, then add a new repository - the irealsms beta repo, the url is http://irealsms.com/beta_repo and install the older version. As soon as I did that everything stopped being odd. I didnt need to enter my serial number so it must be stored on the device somewhere thats not deleted when you uninstall, but its worth making sure you have a record of it before you proceed...

2.0.8.2 did break a bunch of stuff (i even emailed their support) but all credit to them 2.0.8.3 is up now and fixes it all!

i hadnt seen 2.0.8.3 it wasnt up when i rolled back yesterday. They had 2.0.8.3b2 up on the beta repo but were suggesting that people went for 2.0.8.1

I will give 2.0.8.3 a go now

right, i've been reading their forum and there seem to be a load of bugs in the 2.0.8.3 release, including the one that made me go looking for the old version in the first place. There may be a fix in 2.0.8.4a which is up on the beta repo but im looking for a changelog now.

whats the bug that is bothering you out of interest?
I was stuck being unable to fix the screen rotation or names to first last, both these are fixed now though.,,

my main annoyance was that blacklisted numbers would flash up as new sms received on the lockscreen. In 2.0.8.1 everything stayed silent and the message just got stored.

Im also learning that auto correct doesnt work well in 2.0.8.3 and 2.0.8.4b

am sticking with the old one for now at least
