Default William at 11 Months old...

Almost a year has passed. Where on earth did it go?. Although this time last year, Louise and I had absolutley NO idea this little terror was about to make an appearance 9.5 weeks early. So much for July 3rd being the due date. He decided on April 27th . Little greasy in the hair there but ya know how it is with babies and getting food in their hair. He was given a brief wipe down and then bathed later in the evening . Poor little thing has one hell of a wave in his hair ..lol

So, these shots were all taken with the Nifty Fifty @ F1.8. Shutter speeds varying around 1/40 - 1/80 @ ISO 100 and one at 1/125, ISO 200.

Background is a curtain thrown over the sofa with a pillow underneath on the floor for the little'un to lean on. Light source was a window to my right and the 430 EX II diffused (Sto-fen) and bounced off the ceiling.

There's a couple of compositional problems. Hands and elbows missing at the bottom of the frame mainly when shooting landscape but still not too bad
As usual, they look better when expanded (can anyone find in the options to turn that bullcrap auto-downsize crap off?)

Beautifull set of photos, memories for the future !
Certainly got a good head of hair for 11 months and it looks like he'll be keeping those blue eyes too.

    Cheers GedR .

Yeah I think these are something like images 215 and up . If you search William James Clark, you'll see some of the other shots from when he was a tiny little thing.

#5 is a great shot mate, maybe a small drop in exposure to cure the light on the left shoulder but a cracking pose and expression of joy and innocence
What is it with steel wool? Is it steel? Or is it wool?

ROFL, I know but at the moment, we're letting his hair grown whichever way it wants too. Then when he's a bit older we'll get that sorted .

    Thanks again guys

I think maybe some selective exposure amendmends might be needed for #5, believe it or not the entire image was under-exposed and I thought it was going to end up in the recycle bin but I was fortunate to pull some light back into it. Still I agree it's definitely over exposed on the shoulder. That said, the window was behind him at that point...

These were mainly tester shots using the curtain and I'm very pleased how they came out

    Thanks again Eddie and Nikki

yeah his hair is growing very fast.. heh.

I'm pleased with the background. At the Focus show, they were selling 20ft by 20ft backdrops for £189. A set of £40 curtains is just as good. A bit smaller but I don't need 400sq ft. of material

And I certainly don't mind at all. Actually, I quite like what you've done there.
