    Default twitter

i just searched df for twitter expecting to see at least a couple of discussions..

the biggest current tech/net phenomenon and df hasnt got a single mention of it, when i know of at least 10 members who have an account.

does this show just how out of the tech news loop df actually is? or is it more a function of the age of the current readership?

    discuss.

To be frank I couldn't give a fuck about people reporting their status constantly, stops you catching up when you meet someone. Before you harp on about 'it isn't just for that' 99% of users think that is what it is useful for and it bores the living shit out of me.

People trying to come up with smart rhetoric when they aren't smart and don't understand the word rhetoric does nothing for me.

You wanted discussion and I gave you my opinion.

You haven't presented your own opinion as to why you like it so much.

I quite enjoy it, some of the information you get from it is interesting, depending on who / what you are following. Marcode, there are a couple of threads on here, one a celebrity listing, another where members have put their own twitter accounts for people to follow. Thing about twitter is, its so damn basic, what is there to discuss? Which clients you use? Personally I use twitterfox on my laptop and tweetie on my iphone, it works for me

dunno why i expected anything more from df tbh.

can i safely assume all the responses thus far are from people who have neither tried the service or are over the age of 40?

Nothing small minded about it Code. I look at folks twitters but it just ain't my bag and doesn't float my boat. Why is that small minded? The world is about differences, why should someone holding a different opinion to you be small minded. Your opinion seems a little ironic.

where? thats originally what i was looking for..

i was just surprised that the biggest thing going on around the internet just now didnt even get a mention on df. i just thought that was a bit odd considering df is usually quite receptive to new services.

i wasnt referring to you. at least you have checked it out. considering your into your facebook quite a bit, i thought it might be more up your street.

to answer your earlier question... for me i like to use it to find news and for its search functionality.

results are up to the second, unlike google. also, trends and new things going on the world are usually reflected so much faster on twitter than even news sites.

theres a lot of shite on there too, dont get me wrong, but same as anywhere, you only follow stuff that interests you.

Maybe I need to have a look at what it can do but it does seem a little limited to me to be fair. Give me a lesson in how it can make my life fuller and I will give it a look.

check www.wefollow.com check the directory for things that might interest you.. your favourite musicians for example.. they post music and shit.. thats just off the top of my head. depends what ur into.

im not trying to evangelize it here, i just wondered why big tech news barely gets a mention on df any more in between shite videos and 4by2 re-posting the whole of the bbc news site.
