    Default Excel problem

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I want to copy some data from a notepad file. The data has several rows of numbers, each row containg multiples of four digits each i.e.

    0069 0000 0060 0001 0007 0000 0001 0062 0004 0003 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000
    0072 0000 0064 0000 0006 0001 0001 0072 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000
    0165 0000 0154 0000 0009 0000 0002 0158 0004 0002 0001 0000 0000 0000 0000
    0170 0000 0151 0003 0014 0000 0002 0168 0002 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000

I want to copy this data in to Excel so each set of numbers is entered in to a seperate cell i.e. 0069 in to A1 0000 in to A2 etc. I've tried doing this but it's putting two sets of four numbers in to each cell.

I then need to copy the data back in to a notepad file again.

Save the text file, then from Excel open the txt file (you will need to change the file type to 'all files' otherwise Excel will not see it.) Open it as 'Delimited' and then tick the space delimiter, this should do what you want.

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, it's off the top of my head, let me know if this doesn't make sense and I'll open up Excel and work it out step by step.

    What he said.

Or paste into notepad and do a replace all... change the spaces to ; and then save the file as a .csv. This should open the way you want in excel.
