Tech Setanta worries for the FA

It seems that the worst result for the Football Association could be on the cards as the contract worth £425 million between the FA, ITV and the satellite broadcaster Setanta appears to be on the point of collapse.

Setanta has been in trouble since losing out on the Premier League live game auction to Sky Sports.

This hit the satellite broadcaster hard in terms of revenues from subscriptions and advertising.

The early signs that Setanta could be in trouble were showing when they were late with a £10 million payment to the FA for the England internationals and FA Cup matches.

The next round of instalments is due next month and once again the parties involved are nervous as to what is going to occur.

It is possible that Setanta will seek a delay in payment, but under a separate contract, they will also need to pay a £60 million instalment this month for the rights to show Premier League matches.

May be the worst result for the FA, but surely the best for consumers, with the frankly cr@p picture, coverage and line up!?

I had it on Virgin too and used to think it was ok. That is until you compare it to something. Nearly as bad as ITV's picture

Personally I like having Setanta free, but as long as I get the same amount of live football I don't care who it comes from as long as its not ITV.

Who would when you wouldn't get the three months worth.
