    Default German satellite channels

Does anyone know how I can (or know why I can't) receive German channels - specifically SAT.1 on my Freesat device?

I'm currently pointing at Astra 19.2 and easily receive all the usual suspects BBC, ITV, Men&Motors, Movies4Men etc etc. but when I try and access any 'foreign' channels from the same satellite it reports 'no signal'.

I've even tried manually inputting the various numbers - TP and the like but all to no avail.(might have got this bit wrong though)

I only want it cos I'm cheap and SAT.1 regularly broadcasts the footie

(17:18:34) (+Cam) i need to mount my xbox hdd in linux
(17:19:02) (+SpikeWork) youth of today, they'll mount anything

If your pointing at 19e you wont get any of those!

    Those channels are on 28e.

My box tells me that I'm aiming at 19.2 e (leastways that's where all the workable channels are listed) and if try to access channels on 28e I get the 'no signal' thing.

But just to be sure I'll pop out now and stick a compass on it again.

It's only motorized if me up a ladder and someone else peering through the window and shouting instructions is the definition of 'motorized'

No idea m8, but trust me your dish is pointed at 28E...if you want SAT1 you need to move it to 19E.

I've got a motorised setup and you can find the German channels (and the one you're looking for) here @ 23.5°E:

    http://www.lyngsat.com/astra23.html

    and here @ 19.2°E:

    http://www.lyngsat.com/astra19.html

    Good luck for your setup...

Remember you don't just have to move the dish from left to right, you need to change the elevation slightly as well...
    Greetings :)

Well for 23.5E he will need an 80cm dish minimum depending on where in the UK he is....he may get away with a 60cm on the Kent coast.

19E is the best option as that should be viewable with a 45cm sky dish.

Tried and tried and tried - honest I did!

    Can't seem to locate 19e!

The pisser is, no matter what I do, when I point the damn dish away from 28e I can relocate it without effort - so if that's so damned easy to find how come 19e isn't.

Am I really condemned to watching the footie on my laptop?

I know I could spend money but I do have a rep to live down to

Which way are you moving it? It will need to go to the right as you look at the sky and the elevation needs to very slightly decrease.

Do you have a sat meter or are you just using your TV?

19E is easily as powerful as 28E with a wider footprint so should be easier to spot than 28E

yeah finding 19e is piss easy. I used to do it on a little 40cm camping dish.

If you are looking from behind the dish it needs to go right and point it down slightly.

Thanks guys - I'm away from home until late Sat so I'll give it another go on Sun. I did try the swing to the right thing but to no avail. (probably not depressed it enough)

I am relying on the TV to tell me when I have the signal - works for 28e so I figured it would work for 19e!

I have a "sat beeper" which you can borrow if you want m8...it goes in line with the lnb and you use an earpiece to get a rising tone when you hit a sat, its easier than having to watch the tv.

    Let me knowm8?

PM me your address and I'll post it to you tomorrow.
