dying psp

I got my psp on release day and after alot of abuse it has finaly started to die. The control nob has started to do what ever it wants and other buttons are unresponsive.

I was wondering if anyone has had theirs refurbed as its getting on my tits as it leaves games almost un playable.

The only worry about sending it back to sony is it has the latest custom firmware on it and i have taken it apart a few times.

Can anyone suggest what to do as i play it alll the time and dont want to fork out for a new one?
