    Default Sky Recording problem

    hi
quick second opion on a sky problem
I bought a second hand thomson sky box which seemed to be working fine
I then forced a update to get itv HD everything still seems fine
    records ok pauses ok etc
but when I record something and say its half an hour in I go to planner to play
from the start it comes up reconding interupted and dont play and when shows over
it says same thing tho if I had left it alone it would have recorded to the end ok
as all other shows seem to.
I did have a few problems pausing and playing b4 update but seems ok at moment
I'm thinking it could be the hard drive as it can be a bit clunky.
was thinking of taking it out formating or something and putting it back.
Am I on the right track or have any of u guys seen this b4?

cheers and thanks for any help

    You have 2 inputs yes?

Check box isnt in single feed mode....if both of these are OK its prob the hard drive on its way out.

    Guide> Settings> Picture...0,1, select.

You can also do a planner rebuild in there to which you should try.

thanks for all ur help but sorted now
turns out card wasnt paired to box right
i could view anyting and record free channels (hence why it worked sometimes)
but came up record interupted with any of my sky mix channels

so all is now well that i've spent guts of an hour getting it paired with sky
(dam guy kept insisting i had to take hd sub to get box put on)

Cozzy, are you using a normal sub on the HD box then? thats what I want to do but was waiting for someone to confirm it worked. Would be nice to have the BBC/4/ITV in HD but can't be bothered to pay £10 a month for it...

do the HD channles work ok now then?

I got a HD box from someone on here and paired my card with it. I now get BBC, channel 4 and ITV HD without the subscription. They did try it on saying as it was a HD box I'd need to take out a sub but told them no chance and to just pair the card. 45 mins later I was able to record.

    yup what he said :-)
I have normal sub on a ebay sky hd box and no £10 month charge
tho when i was getting it paired indian guy wouldnt listen to me about not needing £10 hd sub but i asked him to get his supervisor to speak to and 5min later lo and behold he came back to say so sorry it can be done :-)
and yes got the 3 free hd channels bbc C4 and itv plus the other channels through the hdmi cable seem a lot better. Def worth getting
