Back to the new skool hardcore breaks this month. Also this month is that I have got into the animated series Rick and Morty (Cheers Rick!), so that's why it's sampled all over the mix! Anyone into adult cartoon stuff should check it out, Google is your friend.

Anyway some cracking tunes from the last couple of months. Some from the usual suspects and some from some producers I wasn't aware of. Love the first track from Craig Chant, sample mania and very well composed. Nice to see an original track like that. Couple tracks from Bassraver and DJ RIP, always top tunes from those guys.

This month my mix to you comprises of a few of the latest Nu Skool tracks, along with a couple I may have missed. In addition there is a 15-20 old school jungle mix at the end. This was something that I had on my recorder that I recorded a few weeks back while a tad inubriated... I pulled out some of the old dusty ones and decided to slam them together in a way that only I could do!

Let me know what you think and I might stick more of this kind of crap on my mix each month. From next year I will probably change the format a little more. Making it more a podcast kind of release. With various mini mixes, a bit of chat (provided I source a new mic!) and some old classic tracks as well as nu skool releases from all the top producers.
Will see how that pans out nearer the time.

Anyway, Nu Skool tracks this month are from Dave Nexus who I don't think has put together a tune I didn't like. Yet another well made track from Criag Chant (Apollo 8). Another great remake from JAM1 as well as tracks from Bassraver, Rave In Peace and Ruffneck.

This month see's a Nu Skool mix, with a junglist theme. All the happy heads are not going to be too pleased. It's not my fault (lol), just the way the tracks were released! This last month or so has seen Luna C release a new type of "supaset" comprising of remakes of many classic old skool beats. Some of the remakes are very good, and he's also been offering them up for free, a track every couple of weeks. In addition to that there are a few tunes from producers but all are in a pretty dark and dingy 1993-1994 sound.

Anyway, hope you like this installment. Hopefully back to some vinyl treasures from next month

Finally...

Been even longer than usual to bring this mix to you. I just wasn't happy with it! The kinda mid-way change of style/bpm kept annoying me, in the end I've just left it more or less how it was... Anyway enough of my problems lol.

This is a nice collection of some more "old skool" vibey stuff this month. A slower pace of about 135 bpm, before the change over anyway. A couple of kinda 4 beat dubstep stuff from electro nutter Audiocutter, and another great tune from Orchid, courtesy of Paranoid Recordings. Weird little nugget I found at the end, which to some might sound like James Bond, but in fact its a Megadeth track lol.

So, a lot of scary things happened this month. Not just plane crashes and halloween, but some old cheesy quavers hit the big 40... Still lets not dwell on that! This month sees a bit of a shorter mix. Mostly because time was short, and TBH the choice of tunes was a bit thin. I think as producers get more used to putting tracks together, they are doing more things to them. More complex things, and as a result there are less tunes being released. That or, like me, people are too damn busy this time of year. I've also found that a lot of tracks now just won't mix right. So many sounds and modern effects kind of make a mix now sound messy. I can see that producers just want to make something different all the time, but in all honesty the simple tracks always do better. Anyway enough of my whinging. I haven't made a track in years, let alone a decent one, so please, no one take offence!

This month I raided the archives of Mr Sin and Impact Beat to put togehter bang on one hour of dark and moodies for October, and halloween. PK2 being a great little track. In there as well is a track that samples an old film Howard The Duck, which is a very old skool thing to do... Usual couple of remixs, Acen one at the start which is proper mashed up, and the latest from Dave Nexus. All in all not a bad use of an hour
