Another busy month so not much of a description apart from I finally found the intro on a mix by DJ Ron E, from a few years back. I've been wanting to know if he made it, or if he got it from somewhere. Either way I've been trawling through hard disks to find it, and finally did, so I nicked it.

Well, as we are fast approaching the end of the year my last mix this year is another tribute to the darkside hardcore and jungle tekno of 1993.

20 years on and some tracks still seem as fresh as they did back then. Some spine tinglers, some anthems, but all great tunage.

I wonder if people will look back at today's scene 20 years on and feel the same. I really, really doubt it. Shouts to all those who remember...

New year, and some newish hardcore breaks for this January's mix. A few great tracks including Pursuits elongated Horn Track remix, another top remake, Journey From The Light from Simon Harris, a dark and moody Strange Rollers number and a new dubstep prodigy remix freebie from Specimen A.

Time really flying so far this year!

Nearly the end of the month and not still got round to a mix... Anyway this one comprises of a load of tracks taken from Soundcloud members, some of which are fantastic! Loving the fact the new producers are not using the original produciton gear to make new tracks in the exact style they used to do. Amigas and the Akais all dusted off!

This mix is a bit more cheery than my usual so will appeal more to the happy heads. Gunnee and the Applecore Crew, looking at you!

Well this mix caught me a bit by surprise! I would say its one of the darkest mixes I've done in a long time. Through no fault of my own I think I got lost in the Jungle! It's definately not for the happy heads, sorry Gunnee!

Some really moody tracks about this month, and a couple of top tracks from the recently released free album Strictly Nuskool Volume 1 (http://www.strictlynuskool.blogspot....vol1-2014.html). One track that stands out as one of the sickest tracks I've heard in ages is: Spastic Fantastic 2 by Leonized, top work there!

Anyway, I've managed to upset most of my local area by driving about listening to this as high volume, so hope you all do too!

Right this month is back to the real hardcore sound. Enough with the jungle tekno and moodiness for the time being! (Stop laughing Gunnee).

Some nice tracks this month, good rave sounds and some old skool beats. Bass lines are still making an appearance so everyone should be happy with this selection! Also included is another good Prodigy remake of an under rated track of theirs. As I have said in the past, Prodigy remakes are not easy, but every now and then I find a good one.

As usual there are tracks from Nicky Allen, the rave breaks makin' machine!, Paul Cronin, the mad beats master, and some great work from Dave Nexus. Without these guys my monthly mixes would be pretty bare. So big respect to you guys.

Easy people

This month sees a little special something. This mix is the complete Skeleton Recordings back catalogue, less a couple of tracks (alternative mixes of already mixed tracks and bonus beats etc).

Skeleton Recordings was a very influential label for me as a budding DJ. Not only did the owner of the label DJ Monita, personally send me promos and mixtapes back when I was learning to mix, but some of the tracks on the label are genuine anthems.

So this mix is my tribute to him, his label and all of the artists who are part of the Skeleton crew.

This September I bring you a circa 1993 mix of 20 Darkside Jungle Techno tracks. All mixed from vinyl for a change! This is the first vinyl mix I've made and uploaded in a long, long time. I have only recently been able to get my records and gear all set up again. After a few months of practice and trying to get back to "the good old days" I am now happy to share my recent efforts. It's by far perfect, but was a good selection and great fun to mix. Cape Fear managed to fu*k me up on the in mix and the out mix, so thanks for that... Aside from that the mixing itself isnt too bad. Things will no doubt improve and get back to how I used to mix. Lots of chops in there, some good, some better!

Respect to the usual people, and shouts to all my bread bins.

listening to this, takes me waaaay back to the first tapes I got off my mate back in 92/93. Even the mixing is similarly ropey

to be fair though, these tracks are near fucking impossible to mix, I rarely got anything close to a mix when I had my old 1's and 2's
