Soap is in the game as a "grizzled vet" NPC.

Single player enemies will have "customized" weapons similar to the multiplayer component of COD4.

The ice mission shown to GI demonstrated the game's open-ended approach to combat, showing how stealth can be implemented if the player chooses.

While the gameplay is open-ended, the story is "on-rails".

Infinity Ward realizes that the "invisible line" where enemies will stop coming in COD4 wasn't great, so they're trying hard to eliminate that. Also, they are lengthening the single player past the 6-10 hour mark of COD4.

"Special Forces Mode" is a major part of MW2, a series of missions in the spirit of the Mile High Club from COD4. It will also have co-op in this mode. Gears-style bleed-out-and-partner-revive will be used.

Co-op apparently won't exist in Story Mode.

Riot shields will be implemented in the game.

Zakhaev's former associate, Makarov, is the "new face of global terrorism."

Snowmobiles are used as a form of escape in the demonstration. Unclear whether or not the player will drive, shoot, or both.

Players will alternate using the two triggers to climb ice-walls.

Movable turrets will be used in SF mode and Single Player, no official word on online use.

IW wants to implement an accomplishment system to online, as they want to make their players famous.

Online mode will use a "Live-Patching" system, where IW can manipulate spawn logic or certain parts of a multiplayer map without doing a full-blown patch.

Another demoed area shows an enormous desert setting where Task Force 141 drops into a wasteland and must navigate a "lengthy trek" to a fully-rendered valley with scattered caves, reminiscent of Iron Man.

IW is focusing on details for the COD4 sequel, citing iced-up tire treads in the Russian level.

yeah lets hope it doesnt turn into another gears of war thing, gears 2 is horrid after all the hype. hope they dont fuck it too much but these guys have a good track record so im not worried just cant wait for it.

I hope they have made the weapons capable of using a silencer AND a scope at the same time like in Quantum Of Solace, that's the only thing that niggled me about COD4.

what so people can camp in a bush with uav jammer on picking others off?? why not just get a cloaking device and be done with it...

i for one wouldn't care if they binned snipers completely, just don't see the enjoyment in camping personally, and if you're playing a game such as headquarters they're just a burden on the team imo.

hope they also find a way of stopping cheating fuckers using rapidfire mods.

apart from all that, i can't wait!!!!

yeah i loved the sniping level in campaign, but i can't stand snipers in MP, maybe because I'm no good at it, but i get more satisfaction kniving someone, and running round with a silencer on.

i hope they don't have vehicles in MP as well - or if they do make sure everyone is in a vehicle. Skidoo fighting anyone

the story co-op mode doesn't bother me, i like a SP challenge - but they've said there will be co-op for the special taskforce missions.

Not just sniper scopes, but red dot jobbies and the like, I don't see why they can't do it, would make it a bit more realistic. It worked fine in Quantum Of Solace.

i've had it ordered since 2/2/09 can't friggin wait! just a shame that there will be a load of other games coming out around then that I'll want as well (assassins creed 2, bioshock 2 etc)
